ERS Medical invest in state-of-the-art ambulances to aid patient care

ERS Medical Patient Transport Services is investing £3 million in state-of-the-art ambulances to ensure the quality of service offered to patients.

The delivery of the new fleet will take place over the next year with the first expected to arrive at ERS Medical Norfolk in early 2020.

The new ambulances are a mix of additional and replacement vehicles in a service fleet of more than 440, covering more than 500,000 journeys across the UK a year.

Mark Merriman Regional Manager said: “Along with our staff, our vehicles are our most important assets. The additional and replacement vehicles will help us maintain a reliable and efficient service that is as comfortable as possible for patients. For patients who need recurrent treatments such as dialysis or chemotherapy, transport is a significant part of their lives and the investment will help us provide a better level of care.”

Mark also commented “As the new ambulances all perform to the latest Europe-compliant emission specifications they will also help us continue our journey to becoming cleaner and greener”

It has been two years since ERS Medical Patient Transport was sold and relaunched under new ownership. Since then the business has gone from strength to strength receiving an overall rating of “Good” by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) across all its sites and employing over 1000 staff including paramedics, technicians and nurses.
