ERS Medical Mental Health awarness

Supporting Mental Health Awareness Week

Mental Health Awareness Week 18-24 May – #Kindnessmatters

At ERS Medical we believe in working together and treating people equally, with dignity, respect, compassion, and kindness. Kindness is a simple act that can have a profound effect on both our physical and mental wellbeing. By being kind, positive interactions and conversations take place all of which can help ease the sense of isolation many people with mental illness experience.

Approximately one in four people in the UK will experience a mental health problem each year. Mental Health Awareness Week aims to get people talking about their mental health and reduce the stigma that can stop people from asking for help.

This year’s theme Kindness Matters could not be more relevant given the current pandemic. It has given many of us time to reset and re-think about what kind of society we want to emerge from this crisis.

Being kind is not all about other people, it is also important to show yourself kindness, this may be asking people for help, finding time to relax or doing something that helps you switch off at the end of a challenging day.

Promoting better mental health and preventing mental problems in the workplace.

For ERS Medical a healthy workplace is extremely important.  To prevent ill health and to support our employees, all of our staff and their families have access to Health Assured a 24/7 Employee Assistance Programme (EAP).  From mental health advice to support with bereavement and legal information, the Health Assured EAP team are at the end of the phone 24/7 and are completely free to use.
