ERS Medical’s ‘Super Mario’ wins Compliments Award
Ambulance Care Assistant (ACA) Mario Kawao, based at ERS Medical’s Plymouth base, has been awarded for his ‘super’ efforts. Mario has been working for ERS Medical since October and has received consistent positive feedback from both patients and colleagues. Thanks to his ‘over and above’ attitude he has won ERS Medical’s Compliments Award with a place on ERS Medical’s IHCD Technician Course as his prize.
As part of ERS Medical’s structure to continually improve its service offering all clinicians are required to provide patients with surveys. Mario received great patient feedback from day one demonstrating he was clearly a confident in his role and a highly capable individual. Patient feedback included:
“Mario kept me informed on what was going to happen when we got to hospital. Very helpful and pleasant, happy to answer any questions we had.”
“The vehicle is brilliant. Mario the driver is very polite, well mannered and very caring. He’ll be a great paramedic given the opportunity. Thank you.”
To encourage crew members to give out patient feedback forms ERS Medical ran the Compliments Award incentive which looked through all the patient feedback collected since October 2013 and identified top performers from a patient perspective. Out of approximately 150 patient surveys completed Mario was mentioned in 30 of them and shone as the top performer in the area.
ERS Medical is delighted to have enrolled Mario on our IHCD Technician Course to allow him to take the next step in his medical career and keep performing to the best of his abilities. Mario is a fine example of how someone with the right drive and enthusiasm can develop his chosen career path. His reputation with patients and colleagues certainly warrants his nickname in the crew room ‘Super Mario’! We look forward to seeing his progress within the business.
Good luck Mario!
