ERS Medical Apprentices

Launch of ERS Medical’s Apprenticeship scheme with YMCA

National ambulance firm ERS Medical has launched a nationwide apprenticeship scheme in partnership with YMCA Training, offering either operational or call centre team opportunities to candidates aged 18 to 24. The scheme presents an opportunity to work within the healthcare sector on either a one or two-year fixed term contract while gaining Level 2 and 3 NVQ qualifications.

Operational apprenticeships are based on the Ambulance Care Assistant (ACA) training programme and will last for two years. As a one-year apprenticeship, the call centre roles will cover a wide range of call centre tasks including general administration, screening patients for eligibility to travel through to dispatching vehicles and monitoring operational performance.

Apprentices on the scheme will be paid a salary and undergo a structured training and development programme in partnership with YMCA Training. Candidates will be able to study at their own pace to suit individual learning levels as training will be role-specific and bespoke to each individual. A monthly salary, flexible working patterns and annual leave are some of the other benefits offered by the scheme.

ERS Medical commented: “This is a great opportunity as ERS Medical is an innovative and fast growing company and we’re excited to partner with a pioneering establishment such as YMCA Training. This scheme will let candidates earn a real salary as well as gain a real qualification while gaining valuable workplace skills. Upon successful completion of the scheme, we will also ensure permanent job opportunities are available to apprentices to continue their journey with us. We value our apprentices across the group and these opportunities have a high conversion rate into permanent roles.”

Rosi Prescott, Chief Executive, YMCA Training, added; “As a national charity we exist to help more young people into fulfilling employment and it is through exciting partnerships such as this – with dynamic, forward-thinking companies like ERS Medical – that we can provide life changing opportunities and apprenticeships for 18 to 24-year-olds. We look forward to working with the ERS team and with all the apprentices who take advantage of this fantastic opportunity.”

Applications for the scheme are being invited for our next intake of apprentices for 2015 in the Norfolk and Mid Essex areas now.

To apply, candidates have to simply contact YMCA Training by emailing ersapprenticeships@ymcatraining.org.uk (applications only) with their CV and someone will be in touch within 48 hours. Any queries about the apprenticeship scheme should be submitted via email to info@ersmedical.co.uk (queries only).
