Prestigious Managed Services Contract Win for ERS Medical
ERS Medical has ‘gone live’ on its Managed Services contract to provide non-emergency transport services to patients and employees for Barts Health NHS Trust. The prestigious contract is the first of its kind in the NHS that sees patient and Trust transport services consolidated into a single managed service. The contract covers general non-emergency patient transport services; high dependency and bariatric non-emergency transport service; taxis and courier services; management and provision of private vehicles and logistics services.
Barts Health NHS Trust is the largest NHS Trust in the UK serving a population of 2.5million in east London and beyond. The contract, which went live in June 2014, provides an improved patient and service user experience whilst delivering significant cost savings and reducing the Trust’s carbon footprint.
ERS Medical, said “Our Managed Services model doesn’t just simply take over the management of existing suppliers. Instead, we establish assured frameworks of multimodal transport providers, utilising them according to the specific needs of our customers and refining the framework to meet fluctuating demand and emerging requirements.”
Central to our Managed Service model is the ability to provide a single point of access enabling patients and staff to book or enquire about any of their transport needs 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year. This optimised booking and enquiry process brings increased efficiencies in the scheduling of all transport appointments, in turn maximising the patient and staff experience by minimising the time they spend in the transport system.
Go-live on this contract is being delivered in two phases. Initial Operating Capability on 1st June has seen ERS Medical assume full responsibility for all current services on a ‘business as usual’ basis. Our Contract Management Office is now working towards Full Operating Capability at which point ERS Medical will leverage the full capability of our Managed Service provision.
