South West weathering the storm with ERS Medical

ERS Medical has continued to provide an unaffected patient transport service throughout the Christmas period despite the severe weather in the South West.

Storms and high tides have been causing disruption to travel across the UK, with the South West being particularly hard hit. In Devon, flooding and fallen trees have caused road closures and long delays in many areas with coastal villages being particularly at risk.

ERS Medical provides a patient transport service in Plymouth and the South West 24 hours a day, 7 days a week all year round. Its modern vehicles and advanced dispatch system helps transport over 100 patients every day and ensuring consistency of service throughout the bad weather has been a priority.

Andrew Pooley at ERS Medical, said: “To ensure our ambulances are always running we have been working closely with our local Emergency Planning Officer to put robust measures in place to pre-empt any problems before they become an issue. All the crews have worked hard to make sure our patients are picked up on time and are safe and warm for the duration of their journey.”

Thank you to all the Ambulance Care Assistants at ERS Medical’s Plymouth base for their hard work during the storms and ensuring that our service has run smoothly over the Christmas holiday.
