Team members volunteer to support major incident
South Central Ambulance Service (SCAS) recently declared a major incident due to a building collapse resulting in mass casualties. SCAS management contacted the ERS Medical team with an urgent request calling for additional resource that could be deployed to support them.
In response to this incident Stephen Flower, Emergency Operation Manager, contacted team members requesting their availability to enable us to offer support. In response a number of ERS Medical ECA’s, Technician’s and Paramedics immediately volunteered to assist in any way they could.
Following this Ali Drummond and Martina Cullivan, ERS Medical Technicians, were deployed to attend the incident to offer their services and assistance.
Stephen Flower, Operations Manager commented, “Even though they were not all deployed, we really did appreciate them all offering their services on the spot, without hesitation.”
